#26 - "The Skullfish Smackdown" (Originally Written In: 2004)

"Impressive," Devon commented.

"Let's get the Zords," Trevor said.

"Right." Devon summoned the Aniforce Beasts. "Aniforce Beasts, arise!"

"TerraNature Zords, on scene!" Reggie exclaimed.

"Mega Winger, deploy!" Zhane yelled.

The three Zords and three Beasts raced to the battle scene. The Rangers teleported onto their respective vehicles. Reggie, AJ, and Zhane entered their Zords cockpits as Devon, Trevor, and Karone transformed their Beasts into the Aniforce Zords.

"Devon to team, let's combine our Zords!"

"Karone to Devon, nobody told us how to combine all five of them, remember?"

"AJ to team, I have a button labelled 'NFM' on my control panel. Do the rest of you have a similar button?"

Everyone looked and saw it. "Why didn't we see it before?"

"Trevor to Devon, it was never lit up until we met the others. 'NFM' must stand for 'NatureForce Megazord.'"

"Good thinking, T," Devon said. "Devon to team, press the 'NFM' button to begin transformation!"

"Right!" The Rangers pressed the buttons, and the Zords combined to form the NatureForce Megazord. Devon's Zord formed the head, Trevor's formed the upper torso, Karone's formed the legs, Reggie's formed the left arm, and AJ's formed the right arm. A new battle helmet was added to the configuration, courtesy of Reggie's Rhino TerraZord. Now in one cockpit, the five Rangers prepared for battle. "NatureForce Megazord, power up!"

"Mega Winger, transform!" Zhane pressed a button, transforming his space vehicle into a Megazord-like robot, which landed next to the NatureForce Megazord. "Let's take this guy down!"

"Right!"

The giant Skullfish laughed at the robots. "Do you seriously think that your puny little Megazords can stand a chance against all of the power that I possess?"

Devon's voice projected through the Megazord's loudspeaker. "Yeah! Come and get us!"

Skullfish growled and raised his arm to the sky. "Sonic Fury..." Energy began to form around his hand, causing it to glow in a purple color. After a minute, he aimed at the Megazords and continued calling the attack. "...Blast!" The energy flew from his fist and struck both Megazords, shaking them and causing them to step back. Inside their cockpits, the Rangers yelled and tried furiously to regain the Zords' composure. Skullfish laughed again. "See? You guys can't stand even that little bit of energy!"

"Zhane to NatureForce Megazord, I'll distract him, while you guys summon your Megazord Saber and move in for the kill."

"Sounds like a plan to me," Reggie spoke.

"Me, too," Trevor added. "Let's do it!"

"Karone to Zhane, I guess you're not a complete space case after all!"

The Mega Winger summoned its Wing Blaster and quickly fired on the gloating monster, causing him to take a few steps back. "Looks like you're the one who can't stand a little energy, fish lips," Zhane said through the Zord's loudspeaker. The Zord took its place behind Skullfish and grabbed onto him.

"What are you doing?" Skullfish seemed surprised that the Ranger had him in his clutches. He struggled to get free. "Let me go!"

Over in the NatureForce Megazord, the Rangers prepared to move in.

"NatureForce Saber, energize!"

A modified version of the Aniforce Megazord's saber materialized in the right fist of the NatureForce Megazord. Completely gold in color with a crystal at the base of the handle that changed colors between those of the five Rangers, this new saber was one hundred times stronger than the previous one.

Skullfish looked on in fright. "What's that?"

Zhane looked on in awe. "Whoa, what a cool looking saber!"

The NatureForce Megazord ran towards the monster and Zhane with its saber drawn. Just as the Megazord approached, Zhane released the monster and had the Mega Winger run away. As the Megazord ran past the monster, its saber sliced Skullfish across the midsection, bisecting him. He exploded in a brilliant display of multicolored energy.

A distance away, the Mega Winger stood proud. "Way to go, guys!"

The NatureForce Megazord's saber dematerialized, and the Rangers leapt out of the cockpit onto the ground below. The Zords transported back to their respective holding places. Zhane jumped out of the Mega Winger to join his friends, and his Mega Winger flew back into space.

Together, the Rangers talked about the battle, their new Ranger comrades, and also wondered what was next for them. Suddenly, Devon's communicator beeped. He answered, "Devon here."

-"Rangers,"- Leandros said over the speaker, -"you all did an exempliary job in combat today. You have successfully defeated the evil force of Commander Skullfish. I am proud of you all."-

"Excuse me, Leandros," AJ said, "but what about your Rangers?"

"Also," Karone added, "what about Meduron?"

-"Meduron is resting right now,"- Leandros replied. -"He's been through a lot, and it will be a while until he is back at full strength. In the meantime, I will be your advisor. As for Tawni and Erica, they have recuperated, and are currently at the Reflection Bay Galleria."-

The Rangers snickered. Devon spoke, "Now that Commander Skullfish is gone, what's next?"

-"I am uncertain of that, Rangers,"- Leandros responded. -"According to Astra, the forces of the Constellation Empire have taken themselves out. Emperor Perseus, Cassiopeia, and Orion are believed to have been destroyed in a great internal battle on board the Galactic Fortress."-

"You're kidding," Karone said. "They took *themselves* out?"

-"It seems that way,"- Leandros replied. -"For now, you are free to resume your normal lives, as there is no sign of any new evil threat. Leandros, out."-

"Guys," Zhane said, "Do you know what this means?" He looked around to see confused looks from everyone. "Party time!"
